Partial Network Outage - the loss of a fiber optic connection between our Westin Carrier Hotel data center and our 600 Plaza data centers caused two issues: (1) clients in the second data center lost connectivity to our core network and (2) a DNS lookup issue with the a secondary DNS server caused a partial network issue when a primary went offline. |
(1) The carrier handling our fiber connections between our primary and secondary data center restored the circuits affected. (2) Reconfiguration of our DNS infrastructure to assure resiliency if either a DNS server fails or the physical location of either a primary or secondary DNS node goes offfline. Three fully redundant DNS servers are now online in different physical locations. |
